An indie developer has accused a game on Steam of being an exact copy of a demo he released for free earlier this year. The sellers responded with claims of their own and a copyright strike against the developer’s YouTube video showcasing the demo. For Honor is another game that’s primarily GPU-bound and even with the GTX 1080 Ti on rendering the Ryzen CPUs are able to max it out. The same is true for the Core i3-7350K, for example. In a fourth-quarter earnings call this week, the CEO of Sonos revealed that the company plans to expand into four new product categories soon. He said the company will introduce the first of these in the 2023 fiscal year but disclosed no further details. Company head Patrick Spence said Sonos wants to move into product categories “naturally adjacent” to its current forte — speakers. It also wants to expand to new markets like Japan, India, and Latin America....

Google released the beta Steam client for Chromebooks this week. It still only supports a few devices, but the beta’s system requirements are lower than the alpha’s. The Chromebook Steam alpha only supported seven hardware variants, requiring at least an 11th-generation i5 CPU and 8GB of RAM. The beta adds compatibility with AMD’s Ryzen 5000 C-Series and 12th-generation Intel processors. It also supports i3 or Ryzen 3 CPUs, though it still recommends at least an i5 or Ryzen 5 with 16GB of RAM....
One of the coolest applications within the suite is called Download Station 2, which allows you to turn the DS410j into a 24/7 BitTorrent, FTP, or HTTP download center. Tablet shipment growth was flat in the second quarter of 2022 but the story is even worse for Chromebooks as shipments declined sharply over the last three months compared to the same time a year ago. It might not seem like it, but the tablet market performed better than expected given geopolitical issues, inflation concerns and continued Covid restrictions in China. Tesla unveiled its 4680 battery cell format during its battery day keynote in 2020. The cell measures 46mm x 80mm (hence the 4680 name) and produces five times the energy, six times the power and affords a 16 percent range increase courtesy of the new design. The Semi was introduced way back in 2017 and was supposed to enter production a couple of years later. Manufacturing would not start until 2022, however, with Pepsi taking delivery of the first production units late last year....
Far Cry Primal only played at 40fps using the GameRock PE graphics card which isn’t great. Adding a second card boosted the 4K performance to a much more impressive 79fps and this was an incredible 98% boost in performance for almost perfect scaling. Another game that scales well with SLI is Overwatch, though it could easily be argued that 98fps with a minimum of 90fps is more than sufficient at 4K....

The Core i3-6100 was exceptionally fast in HandBrake as it pumped out 191fps making it 13% faster than the Core i3-4360, a surprisingly large margin indeed. Increasing the memory speed to 3000MHz didn’t really help the Core i3-6100 as it managed just a single extra frame. Compared to the i3-4360, the new 6100 provided some small gains in the x264 HD Benchmark which were enough to place it ahead of the i5-4430 in the second pass test....
Anyone investing in one of Intel’s budget Skylake processors isn’t going to be spending big on their motherboard and being that the Core i3-6100 costs just $125, we suspect most will want to spend less than this on their board. It’s possible to pick up a Z170 motherboard for as little as $100, with several options priced between $100 and $120. Although H170 motherboards are $10 to $20 cheaper, we recommend avoiding them as they lack some key features that make the savings somewhat pointless....
