Dyson unveiled the robots at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Philadelphia this week. They include a claw picking up plates, which is presumably doing the dishes—something most people would appreciate. According to an employee-facing memo obtained by The Verge, Epic Games will “offer full-time at-will employment to eligible US-based contingent workers,” and “many of those offers will be effective April 4th, 2022.” Spokesperson Elka Looks confirmed that a few hundred contractors will be hired and that most, but not all, of these will be quality assurance (QA) testers. Looks added that the workers would be directly employed by Epic Games and eligible for the company’s US employee benefits plan....

A federal criminal case claims that Dhirendra Prasad, 52, abused his position to defraud Apple through several schemes, including stealing parts using false repair orders and causing the tech giant to pay for goods and services it never received. Prosecutors estimate Apple’s losses as a result of Prasad’s alleged actions during the ten years he worked there (December 2008 to December 2018) to be around $10 million. Using a court order, the federal government seized five real estate properties and financial accounts from Prasad worth around $5 million that are linked to the alleged criminal activities....

The Washington Post reports that a jury found Sullivan—a former prosecutor of cybercrimes for the San Francisco US attorney’s office—guilty of obstructing justice for not revealing the October 26, 2016, breach to the FTC; companies are required to disclose data breaches under state and federal laws. He was also found guilty of actively hiding a felony, or misprision. The hackers were directed to Uber’s bug bounty program, but its maximum $10,000 reward didn’t satisfy the criminals, who wanted a six-figure sum in return for deleting the stolen info and keeping quiet about the incident....

Newzoo’s report predicts that global gaming revenue will hit a record $203.1 billion this year while player numbers will reach an all-time high of 3.09 billion—or almost 40% of the world’s population. The road to a more environmentally sustainable cloud business is paved with new agreements to access renewable sources of clean energy. Both Google and Microsoft are indeed pretty busy purchasing new clean energy for their European operations, with the overall goal of becoming completely “carbon-free” in just a few years. Google recently announced a new power purchase agreement (PPA) with Engie, a French-based utility company, to receive 100 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy coming from an offshore wind farm in Scotland....
