The R7 265 offers a distinct performance advantage over the GTX 750 Ti in Battlefield 3 at 1920x1200, offering 51fps versus 43fps, a 19% difference. Compared to the old GTX 650 Ti, the R7 265 was 28% faster while the GTX 750 Ti was 8% faster. The R7 265 was also 13% faster than the HD 7850 but 14% slower than the 7870. Meanwhile, the GTX 750 Ti was 27% slower than the 7870 and 17% slower than the GTX 660....
The GTX 950 was good for just 22fps in Total War: Attila, so gamers will likely want to reduce the in-game quality settings at 1080p. Still the GTX 950 was 16% faster than the R7 370 and 10% faster than the GTX 760. The GTX 950 averaged 44fps in Watch Dogs, 1fps faster than the R7 370 and R9 270 as well as 2fps faster than the GTX 760....

Nintendo’s own NES Classic Edition is a foolproof plug-and-play system that includes a collection of fan-favorite games and authentic-feeling gamepads. Emulation is easy enough with a modern PC, but legality concerns could keep some at bay while others will no doubt miss not being able to utilize physical game carts. If playing from a cartridge is a must, original hardware is still readily available from third-party marketplaces. Prices are on the rise, however, so don’t be surprised when you can’t find pawn shop pricing on vintage hardware....

Google bid farewell to its safe but bland phone design with the launch of its Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Although not as sleek-looking as other rivals in the Android/iOS space, the square design and dual-tone finish became instantly recognizable and unique to Google’s latest flagship. While it was safe to assume that Google would be sticking with this design language for the upcoming value-based Pixel 6a, the Pixel 7 Pro flagship expected to launch in fall apparently won’t look that different either....
I’m already on-record about how fascinating Prison Architect is. Seriously, it’s SimPrison — or ThemePrison, if you will — made by people who seem to be damn near fearless about making video games about uncomfortable topics. The game is from the indie studio Introversion, who have also made the saddest/best game about nuclear war. I recently sent Introversion’s own architects some questions about their newest work. They served up some fascinating answers about the possibilities of a game about building and running a prison....
In short, the motherboard enforced a hard PL1 of 100W which massively limited performance, resulting in significantly worse results than boards that cost $10 or $20 more. Horrible performance aside, our primary concern with this product was the false advertising, as it failed to meet the minimum specification of the 125W CPUs it claimed to support. While Asrock was entirely responsible for producing the B560M-HDV and misleading potential customers, we also blamed Intel for failing to properly define the power spec....
When downloading a single large file from the QNAP HS-210 we saw a throughput of 84.9MB/s, 28% greater than that of the similar spec TS-220. This meant that the HS-210 was just 4% slower than the TS-221 while it was 24% slower than the new Synology DS214play. That said, when armed with Seagate’s NAS hard drives, the HS-210 was surprisingly 30% faster than WD’s Red drives. Keep in mind all other NAS devices were tested with the WD Red drives....
Last month, sources told Protocol that an upcoming Snapdragon mobile processor would be Qualcomm’s first chip to support AV1 decoding natively. The chip, internally codenamed SM8550, is expected to launch towards the end of 2022, so products featuring it might start appearing next year. However, these details are subject to change. The codec is more efficient than some others like VP9, and unlike H.265, using it doesn’t require paying anyone royalties....

Total War: Warhammer is a CPU demanding game that can make good use of multiple threads. Right away, even with the GeForce GTX 1060 we can see the G4560 getting left behind. The plucky little Pentium was still able to provide decent performance, though the Ryzen CPUs were noticeably better here. Despite that, increasing the rendering power with the GTX 1070 did little to improve performance for the red team and we see the same minimum frame rates....
Again, we recorded this next batch of results by pairing Raven Ridge with DDR4-3200 memory. The Pentium G4560 was tested with DDR4-2133 memory using its integrated graphics as well as the GeForce GT 1030. Then we have the Core i3-8100, 8350K and A12-9800 all using their integrated graphics solutions. Starting with CS:GO at 720p, we see that the 2400G is able to roughly match the G4560 and GT 1030 combo, while the 2200G manages the same 1% low result but is 12% slower for the average frame rate....
As we said back then, the SSD 850 Pro is the ’last hoorah’ for SATA 6Gb/s leaving virtually no room left for performance to grow. Samsung’s current Galaxy S22 phones were received with a mixed response from consumers. The latest models were very similar to the previous year’s Galaxy S21 devices, with the only notable change being an improved processor. In fact, the S22 has a slightly smaller battery than its S21 counterpart. Buyers were optimistic that Samsung would opt for a more “significant” upgrade to the specs when the Galaxy S23 models release in early 2023, but this does not seem to be the case based on leaked specifications posted by reputable mobile leaker, Yogesh Brar....
