Just Cause 2’s 5040x1050 results were surprising as both the HD 7850s and GTX 660 Tis rendered 47fps, 27% faster than the GTX 680 and 24% faster than the HD 7970. At 5760x1080, the HD 7850s fell slightly behind the GTX 660 Tis, but the Crossfire setup was still 21% faster than the HD 7970 while the SLI cards were 30% faster than the GTX 680. The GTX 660 Tis averaged 34fps at 5040x1050 in Warfighter, putting them 3% ahead of the HD 7970 and 17% over the GTX 680, while the HD 7850s matched the former and topped the latter by 14%....

Intel’s entrance into the arena of dedicated graphics cards reveals some surprising observations regarding the size of GPU drivers. Compared with its competitors, Intel’s software is way overweight. The GeForce Graphics Driver 528.02 from Nvidia, released January 5, is 788MB. Even smaller are AMD’s Adrenalin 22.11.2 from December 8 at 546MB and version 23.1.1 from January 11 (for the Radeon RX 7000 series), which is 590MB. On the graphics side, we’re looking at Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 980M, the fastest mobile GPU going around. This GPU is based on the same 28nm Maxwell GM204 core as the desktop-class GTX 980 and GTX 970, with 5.2 billion transistors.
